In an exciting open game Takeley came out winners when they held onto a 1-0 win, the goals coming after 30 mins when Colson fed Ricky GOLDBLATT who beat his marker to fire into the roof of the net from 12 yards.

On the stroke of half time Maldon St Mary was awarded a penalty that Takeley keeper James May saved. The decision by the referee was harsh, but justice was scene to prevail. Ricky Goldblatt was unlucky not to add to his tally, when he hit the post from14 yards and watched a Maldon defender scramble the shot off the line.
